How to make that pesky "Authentication Required" dialogue stop coming up when I try to run Vivaldi on my Devuan system:

It seems to be related to gnome session thing.

There are autostart Desktop files in $USER/.config/autostart to start up some stuff related to "autologin". Getting rid of them makes vivaldi able to start up without complaining.

$USER/.config/autostart/gnome-keyring-gpg.desktop $USER/.config/autostart/gnome-keyring-ssh.desktop

I usually create a sibling directory with the same name and .comment extension when I want to comment config files.

I never found the place where "autologin" might be configured. Some solutions I found on the interwebs said to unset that setting - I have no idea where it might be found. Anyway, removing the autostart desktop files worked fine. I also logged out and back in again.

I see "gnome-keyring-daemon" is still running. Dunno what it's for, aside from that.

We'll see what else might break. Oh well.
